PRIOR TO APPOINTMENT
– Phone briefing on the substantial necessity to respect entry times and appointments. Necessity that patient present alone at appointment
– Medical and dental history are asked on phone. Assessment of COVID19 high-risk vs dental emergency and respective schedule management
– Αssessed high-risk patients are scheduled as last appointments. No other extra measures taken – every patient is considered potential carrier/host and surgical disinfection protocols implemented for all to avoid cross-contamination
– Meticulous cleaning of all surfaces and floors with steamers and chlorine in between appointments
UPON ENTRY
– Patient must wear their mask upon admission
– Personal items are left in designated area
– Dental personnel wearing one-use personal protective equipment (PPE) assists with history registration
– Patient is requested to disinfect hands with 70% alcohol solution. Devices with infra-red activation are placed in all rooms and admission room
– Physical temperature examination (infrared thermometer)
– Admission room is disinfected between appointments
– One-use dental isolation and one-use drapes are used upon treatments
AFTER EXIT
– Gear of patient (drapes) and personnel (masks, gowns, gloves) are disposed in designated waste bin. Management of the waste is appointed to and discharged by medical waste collector, Envirodent Inc, on a regular basis
– Used equipment (hand pieces , metal instruments etc) are discharged in closed-type cleaning ultrasonic device for initial debridement/disinfection and follows sealing in plastic packages and autoclave sterilization. Use of sterilization indices to confirm sterile packages
– Full cleaning and disinfection with steamers and chlorine of surfaces and floors
– 30 minute time interval between appointments to air operatory/admission/WC and to disinfect the practice
