Pathologic tooth wear (shortening of teeth). Bruxism (i.e. habitual grinding) resulted in abraded front teeth. Patient is a young female with high expectations
Wax-up as resulted by Aesthetic & Facial Analysis. Note: fully additive treatment will follow, no cutting of teeth will be employed
Mock-up bonded on upper teeth to confirm shape and position, as extrapolated by Aesthetic Analysis. Navigation trays are soaked with composite, that will transfer shape of wax-up into mouth. No cutting/drilling of teeth is applied
Composites are bonded onto teeth as a splinted prototype (ie mock-up), that will remain in place for some weeks.
Final bonded composites in place
Aesthetic and functional analysis launched (first appointment). Digital smile design preceded and analogue transfer of the intended dentition followed with the use of flowable resins and custom-made templates. In a few minutes (second appointment) she ”wore” her new smile.
Custom template filled with flowable resins was seated on her upper teeth and left in place to allow resins harden (4minutes). Template removed and mockup/preview generated only to show the looks of the intended shape. Patient wore her preview/mockup for some days and returned with her remarks and feedback
Notable: resins (mockup/preview) are not adhesed/glued and can easily be removed
